Future Spaces Vision Lab

Research Area: Human-Environment Interactions - Machine learning for visual perception, stress levels, and spatial complexity, Design for the aging society 

Candidates requirements:

- Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with a valid passport.

- Applicants for Doctoral Programs must have attained the Master’s degree. Applicants who have not graduated can provide expected graduation certificate while the official diploma must be provided before enrollment.

- Language competence: TOEFL 90 or above; or IELTS 6.5 overall or above, with no sub-scores lower than 6. Applicants are not required to present TOEFL or IELTS score if their first language is English, or their previous degree was awarded by an institution where the language of instruction was English. Please note that SUSTech academic departments may have higher English language requirements.

- Familiar with quantitative research is preferred, as well as familiarity with design software. Previous research experience is also preferred. Candidates with experience in writing research funding applications are highly welcome.

- Candidates familiar with machine learning and coding are encouraged to apply.

- Candidates from computer science and/or engineering backgrounds are encouraged to apply, as well as candidates with architectural background

- Interdisciplinary researchers are encouraged.

Scholarship: 100.000 RMB/year

Candidates requirements:

- Familiar with quantitative research is preferred, as well as familiarity with design software. Previous research experience is also preferred. Candidates with experience in writing research funding applications are highly welcome.

- Candidates familiar with machine learning and coding are encouraged to apply.

- Candidates from computer science and/or engineering backgrounds are encouraged to apply, as well as candidates with architectural background

- High proficiency in English and Chinese (written & spoken). The working language is English.

- Interest in public health and human-environment interactions

Scholarship: 100.000 RMB/year

3 years full-time study starting in fall 2024.

- Familiar with machine learning and python (preferred), other computer languages can be discussed.

- Candidates with a design-related discipline background are encouraged to apply.
